- Matcha: Made from finely ground green tea leaves and naturally contains caffeine, catechin polyphenols, and L-theanine. The amount per serving varies with preparation.
Preparation: Use 1 g of matcha with 1 oz (2 tablespoons) of water at 185–195°F. Whisk for 30–60 seconds until smooth, then add more water or milk to taste. Weighing the powder gives the most consistent serving.
Brewing tip: A whisk or frother works best for matcha; a tea steeper is not needed.
